In other news, Be Thou My Hearth and Shield: Prayers in the Northern Tradition is now available through Asphodel Press. It has contributions by a number of members of Iron Wood Kindred as well as by many others. There is a download version available if you cannot afford the $11 cost of the printed book.

Whew!

We had spectacular weather for EtinMoot and things went very well. Right now I’m still tired and the “dog days” of summer have come upon us with a vengeance, so I’ll write a summary of the weekend within the next week or so.

…will take place at Ogunquit Beach, Maine, about two hours’ drive from Cauldron Farm. We’ll be leaving Hubbardston at around 11 AM on Thursday, August 6. Again, this will be held in honor of Aegir, Ran and Their nine daughters. If you’re planning on attending this portion of EtinMoot, please contact Elizabeth for information.

If you’re planning to attend, you might want to bring rain gear and an extra tarp for your tent. We’ve had a rather cool and wet summer so far, and for the past two years it’s rained at least once during the event. I don’t see us having a completely dry weekend this year. Also, bug repellent is a good idea — the mosquitoes are bad this summer.

Additionally, I forgot to mention that people may indeed bring alcohol for Loki’s party on Friday night if they choose, and whatever snacks they’d like to share. We usually have a cake of some kind as well.

ETA: No, actually, I did mention alcohol and snacks. Heh.

…is now up on the relevant page.

Also, we recently raised a pole for Idunna in the orchard at Cauldron Farm. We had a lovely day for it, which made easier the large amount of work we undertook to clear the orchard of weeds and brambles, per Her request. I hope to have photographs of the new pole posted to the site sometime soon.

EtinMoot 2009

…will be held August 6 through 9 this year. Cost will be $20 per person. Further details should be posted by the end of May.

New site!

Welcome to our new website, which is essentially the same as the old one on Weebly. I’ll be posting updates about EtinMoot, news and possibly occasional writings by our members, so stay tuned.
